What is the Acopo Smicro system?

Extreme versatility
Constantly changing application areas and the need to integrate different drive types into a single machine often pose enormous challenges for application developers. Creating projects with B&R Automation Studio enables you to work with a wide range of drive concepts using the same tools. This means that flexible drive architectures can be implemented either by combining these concepts together or by keeping them independent of each other. Different machine variants can be planned already during the project development phase and individual configurations using different drive types can be taken into account. This allows you to switch from a stepper motor to a power inverter variant (and vice versa) without any problems. This gives machine manufacturers unprecedented flexibility.

Built-in inputs/outputs
In addition to the trigger inputs, this system also has a 24 VDC output. This can be used, for example, to control external brakes, as well as for other tasks. If necessary, additional functions can be added using optional modules without taking up any extra space. This allows even the most unusual customer requirements to be met. The optional support for many different encoder systems demonstrates the high degree of flexibility of this series.
The most compact dimensions
The dual-channel version of this system highlights the extremely compact design of the module. ACOPOS micro requires less than 50 cm² per axis. This not only saves space in the control cabinet for multi-axis systems, but also offers advantages in connection, since a bus and supply voltage are only required for every second motor.

Safe pulse shutdown
The ACOPOS Micro Modules are equipped with the "Safe Torque Off" (STO) safety function to ensure safe stopping and prevent unexpected starting. Depending on the external wiring, the safety classification is up to SIL 2 / PL d / Cat. 3. Safe pulse off interrupts the power supply to the drive. The electrical torque is no longer generated, so the drive stops. In this case, the requirements for preventing unexpected starting in accordance with EN 1037 are fulfilled, as well as the requirements for stopping functions of category 0 in accordance with EN 60204-1. The requirements for the STO safety function in accordance with EN 61800-5-2 are also fulfilled.
